Early design stages
The initial design stage of the ramp started with computer models of the structure, the ramp was designed from the start based on calculations and CAD simulations, a high tech approach to perfecting a low tech solution!
Stress tests were carried out, and the placement and size of steel structual sections optimised before even the first prototype was made.
Prototypes and testing
From the carefully designed CAD models the first prototype ramps were made. The ramps were tested by our partner company PHL UK Ltd extensively, in real world applications, and live feedback and design improvements were collated.
Designing the ramp with the right amount of flex in the structure, to prevent fractures, yet allowing the ramp to sustain loads at 2x of its SWL was the key focus.
The operators experience also gave rise to a number of operational improvements too, such as the 360 degree swivel clamp for ultimate maneuverability.
Regulations and requirements
Once the design was perfected all the models of ramp were submitted for CE testing, and we have CE certification covering all of the ramps.
Even lesser known regulations such as those encompassing the balance of the ramps were catered for, so you can be sure that the ramp is the safest possible solution for loading.
